I am writing a book on entrance doors, a how-to for small shops (like I had for 44 years) and home workshops. I want to include a gallery of doors, fifteen or twenty or so, including a few of my own. If you have done something you are proud of, know someone who has or if you have seen something you got a kick out of, I would like to see it. Include dimensions, wood used and finish and of course any other information. Email me at smiles@lmi.net. Thanks.

Take a look at Mark Singers threads. I'd say his doors are worthy. I'd also say that he wouldn't mind having his doors being honored in print. Good luck with the book and A big welcome to the 'Creek.

Ditto to what John S. wrote. Mark's doors are simple, yet elegant at the same time and the workmanship and materiasl are top notch!:)

Thanks, guys! but

For those of you that don't know his work Miles Karpilow does incredible carving and outstanding furniture! He has been published as a fine woodworker in may publications and is another very well known crafstman to recently join SMC.
Take a peak at his work:...http://users.lmi.net/karpilow/
paste that into your browser.

Amazing! No?

Miles ,a big welcome to SMC...wonderful to have someone of your skill and experience here!

Now I am building some very well made , but basic doors, design is minimal....way different from the doors Miles has made over the years...he has made incredible furniture as well...!
The doors I am making thus far are just interior doors for the home....I will make a more involved entrance door, still not in a the same class as MK's....I wish I had the patence and skill...

Welcome to the Creek Miles. I was not aware of your work until Mark Singer mentioned it, but he's right...you do incredible and outstanding work. The "Goerges" door blew me away. I've bookmarked your site and will visit it soon when I have more time to peruse (and drool).
