A question for you track saw users:

Festool, DeWalt & Makita all package their track saws with < 60" tracks. Only Festool appears to offer a single track that's not serious overkill for BB, a 75" model, whereas DeWalt's and Makita's next track up is sized for 8' plywood.

What do you do with Baltic Birch? Plop down your 100"+ of track?

When I bought my TS55, I knew that I need to cut a lot of 5x5 baltic birch so I got the 75" in addition to the 55" and connect them if I need to cut 96" long.

I use my 75" track.

Also just used it today to cut doorways in an office building during business hours. Nice clean lines in drywall and very little mess. Not much noise either. Festool track with a Makita saw.

FWIW if you want a shorter one you could always cut a track down. They are just extruded aluminum.

^this. :) Not ideal, but it certainly works just fine.

I'd just cut one down if it were a problem for me. I thought about picking up another long track for mine and cutting it to an in between size, but I'm not sure how useful it'd actually be, and what it would work for where the long track wouldn't.

Yes, I just use my 106" track on 5'x5' baltic birch. I don't have a problem with that.

(Okay, that long track is expensive. But in my view, I have to spend that money to deal with 4'x8' sheets.)

I have the DeWalt with 41, 59, and 103 inch tracks. I use the shortest that will work. I've cut down doors with the longest one but not cut up Baltic birch with it yet.

EurekaZone has 54", 64", and 72" rails. You can also order a rail to any size you want. Just another option.

Sure. I use the long one (DeWalt). It doesn't cause any problems for me. I also have the 59" track which I have used for cuts as short as 4 inches, cutting weird angles.

I buy 4x8 sheets of BB. Solves that little dilemma immediately.
