Should I be able to spray paint inside the tight spots on the endd with canned spray paint?

My brushing skills are awful and I do not have an hvlp setup.

I am making this for my grandson that is due in September. (Pine Plywood)

Spray does have a tendency to not penetrate into tight corners. And you can't easily get in there to sand if you need to. You can get around the issue by painting the parts before you assemble them.

YUP - PRE FINISH. Mask off the glue areas and spray away. Better job spraying anyway - laying everything flat.
Good for you to be thinking about this now. September is on its way :)

I'd also pre-finish something like that...spraying into spaces like that is difficult to get an even finish and it's a "not fun" job, too.

I would paint everything before assembly. Even those large cubbies will be a pain to spray uniformly; the little ones on the end impossible.

Thank you all for the answers; I will do the pre-finish as suggested.
