Is there any good source for lumber that is less then 1+ hour drive from bloomington?
I have been to piken hardwood prices are higher then I would like to spend. I see adds for U-Pick Hardwood Lumber in st. louis poplar for $1.50 bf and cherry for $2.50 bf. piken is poplar $2.50 cherry $4.76
What I am looking for is poplar, cherry, and maybe walnut some day.

I drive a LTL truck so I am in springfield, jacksonville, and beardstown all the time. is there anything hiding around there?

allso in beardstown there is a mill but do they sell to the public?
Thank you.

Justin,

I'm in Springfield, IL and I'm currently the President of the Capital Area Woodworker's club. One of our members cuts and dries lumber on his property just west of Springfield. He usually has a good inventory of all the species of wood you mention (as well as others). His prices are very reasonable, much less than the Woodworker's Shop in Pekin. I will send you his contact information in a PM. Clay
