Can someone point me in the direction of information concerning the technique of alcohol drying of wood (links, etc.)? I know I have read it before but can't remember where. I know the basic idea is to soak the wood (in my case small turning blanks) in alcohol to displace the moisture. Then as the alcohol evaporates the moisture content is reduced. Any further information would be great. Thanks! :)

Search on "alcohol" in the turning forum, probably find out more than you ever wanted to know.

Royce,
As Lee said there's a ton of info on that subject. To make it simpler search only on the Turners forum since this method is used by many turners here who turn green blanks.

Glad to have helped Royce.

Sometimes its hard to see the forest through the trees. I should know, I have been there many a times.
