Mobile Tool Base for 6" Jet Jointer

As a result of my latest shop reorganization, I now need a mobile base for my 6" Jet jointer. Best price I could find on the HTC was $100 with shipping. Seems a little pricey. Anyone know of a better deal or know a better alternative?

Jack, when I had the same tool, I started out with one of the HTC "universal" bases. Never liked it and it really flexed too much. When I saw and ad for a "used" (but really new) HTC welded base for the same tool, I scarfed it up. It was great! Solid. Moved easily. No flex.

That said, you might want to check out the Vega base. It uses a Johnson bar to move it and no wheels are on the ground when you are not actually moving the tool. Very stable.

The Jet mobile universal base is what I have on my table saw. 39.00 and change plus shipping. It is very strong, adjustable no tool assembly. Great base in my opinion. I picked it up on amazon.
