I am looking for some fasteners for a couple of projects. I don't see these are being exotic at all, but I am having a hard time finding them in anything like what I think is a decent price. In fact about the only place I can find them is at the orange Borg or Ace for more money.

I am looking for a 8 x 3/4" screw with a truss head. Philips drive is fine. I also need some 8-32 x 3/8" machine screws.

Where do you shop for these types of fasteners? I am tired of paying .10 - .15 cents apiece, yet perhaps that is a fair price today.

At Home Depot, they call those truss head wood screws "lath screws". #8 by 3/4" costs $6 for a box of 200 screws. http://www.homedepot.com/s/3%252F4%2520lath%2520screws?NCNI-5

+1

I use those Tek screws from Home Depot all the time. I keep them handy in 3/4, 1, 1-1/4, 1-5/8 & 2.

I also use an assortment of Woodcraft's Highpoint washer head screws.

If you go to your local hardware store, the screw dispensers with the price each screw will generally pull out. In the back of the drawer there are boxes of screws that are typically a lot cheaper than the per screw price.

I had never seen those before, thanks for pointing them out. Those will work and are a better price.

I used to buy from Wurth Louis and Company, but their selection has dropped to only a handful of option.
