View Full Version : Osmo in a HVLP?

Anybody tried it? Curious if it would work. I'm batching out a billion small pieces and love Osmo, but need to speed up production.

I'm a newbie to HVLPs, so thanks in advance.

google osmo hardwax oil. its green, and maybe comes from over the pond.

After some digging into the MSDS I found that the viscosity is 45 seconds in a DIN #4 cup. DIN #4 is almost the same as Ford #4. 45 seconds is the perfect viscosity for spraying through a 1.8 mm gravity feed HVLP gun. Having said that, I doubt I would spray that stuff and it's oil based. Any over spray (and there will be over spray) is going to make a gooey mess on whatever it lands. That may be OK for you, however. I would look at a dunk and drain process putting a bunch of parts in or on a wire basket. Don't know if you've already tried that.
