I have the Dewalt tablesaw 7491 RS.
On page 7 of the manual first column at the bottom figure I think it is 18 it shows how to adjust the blade to make it parallel to the miter slot. I can't find part LL the two adjustment screws can anyone tell me where they are located at the back or the sides or where ?

Have you checked that it is not aligned?

LL is located near the back edge of the table (away from you). You have to look up from the bottom.

OH! No wonder I couldn't find it.

No, I have measured it, but I want to order one of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0046CMAB0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_2&smid=A2FYHGC4NSM6WF

I can't seem to make a good perpendicular cut to save myself.

I think my crosscut sled is off, so I'm going to make a new one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbG-n--LFgQ&list=PL4-DbKF0dMcCguea3CvepBw4JQ27-eCHc&index=38

I'm a complete newbie to woodworking, well ok, I've built lots of RC model airplanes but that is my history with working in wood. I've been doing this for only 2 months.

Brian...Save yourself $60 by Googling "table saw alignment jig" and getting some ideas for making your own. Also some excellent stuff via the SMC search function.

That is a really nice jig, but with a block of wood, a couple of wood screws, you can mount a $17 harbor Freight dial indicator on your miter gauge to do exactly the same thing.

The miter slots in my Dewalt table saw 7490X are larger than the standard 3/4". I bought a feather board and it was too loose. You have to make sure that alignment jig has some adjustment for the miter width.

Good luck!
