This is my first attempt at a vase. Its turned from a piece of pear that I got from a wood raffle at one of our club meetings. Its 6" tall and about 4" in dia. I sanded to 1200 and then put on several coats of walnut oil.

Hey, I like that a lot! This is something that my wife has been after me about doing. If she sees this pic I know she'll say, "Yeah, just like that!"
Very nice. Thanks for the picture!

Nice form.
When ever I tried a vase of similar shape I had a lot of trouble getting the bowl gouge to behave past the neck narrowing. What did you use to hollow it out?

Bobby, That looks great!
Like Rob said, how did you hollow it out, do you have a picture of the inside?
Great Job! - Thanks for sharing
