That was a trial of different techniques for a coat/hat rack for in the house

Here is the simple version:

332679

This rack was made to sell at the local farmers market. To keep from doing a lot of unpaid labor the design was simplified. The pegs were made with a 3/8" end with a taper leading to the dowel end. The mounting holes are on 16" center the pegs are on 7" centers.

The back board is ~4" fir sawn from a 1X12.

The hardest part was deciding which way to orient the back board. It looks great no matter what way it is turned.

That certainly looks much much faster to make then the original version. Do you sell then unfinished at the farmer's market?

Yes, it is a lot less work involved. I did chamfer the edges. I was thinking about rounding the end, but left it square.

This one will likely get a clear coat, haven't decided if it will be gloss or satin.

I need to turn a bunch more pegs and make a few different sizes.
