That was a trial of different techniques for a coat/hat rack for in the house
Here is the simple version:

This rack was made to sell at the local farmers market. To keep from doing a lot of unpaid labor the design was simplified. The pegs were made with a 3/8" end with a taper leading to the dowel end. The mounting holes are on 16" center the pegs are on 7" centers.
The back board is ~4" fir sawn from a 1X12.
The hardest part was deciding which way to orient the back board. It looks great no matter what way it is turned.
