I'm looking to upgrade the rollers on my shaper power feed. I'm almost positive I've seen western roller mentioned here on the forums. Does anyone have any suggestions on durometer? Or general thoughts on the western roller wheels.

I have ordered a couple sets from Western Roller, not the cheapest option but a great product. I ordered the yellow ones, 70 durometer if I remember correctly.

Have you looked at the western roller site? They give recommendations on rollers and durometer ratings for different applications.

There's other alternatives.

I've got the 70 duro (yellow) on my feeders which is what they recommended for solid lumber, I think the blue was for melamine. Give them a call and let them know what your intended use is, they are very helpful.

Axiom and Acrotech are two other suppliers. Either the blue or yellow are about a million times better than stock. Dave

i use the blue western wheels on my shaper feeder, that's the second shaper i've put them on. night and day. do it and don't look back. personally, i like the softer wheels, even for hardwood.. they stick like mad.

good luck!

Has anyone tried the polyurethane wheels Grizzly is offering for replacement? 41.95 each. Did not see prices on the western link. My feeder is the G4181

I think I paid right around $33-$35 each from Western Roller.
