I love the dust collection on modern sanders. Aligning the holes in the sanding disks with the holes in the pad, not so much. Even after several attempts I would always be a little off, so I made this little gadget. Easy peasy, now I get perfect alignment every time. :);)

Like it, does the device fit 150s, 125s and 90s? ;)
Mirka stuff is pretty good but not really great for all things, seems to leave a little more fine surface dust in my experience.

I don't see why not as long as they have a 120 mm B/C with 9 hole (8+center) pattern.

That's a wonderful idea!

PC used to build that into their case. Maybe yours is better, but I found just lining up the holes to be easier than using the PC tool.

Looks very cool (although I'm too lazy to use it probably). You made it on a CNC? out of what material?

Festool makes one just like it....

$419.95

:)

(just kidding - I have the same problem and will likely build something similar)

CNC is the bee's knees! It even LOOKS like Festool made it and would charge you 29.95 for it! Nice.

Mreza it's just 1/4 mdf and some oak dowel I had on hand. I drew it up and cut it out on my CNC.

Wade, I don't know about the PC tool but this one is pretty darn easy to use.

Idea has been around since DC was added to RO sanders. I've built versions to fit both five hole and eight hole disks. Piece if 1/2" ply and three dowels is all it takes..

It's a cool idea. I usually tilt the sandpaper so I only need to line up one hole to start. Then I can shift the remainder of the paper to line up the opposite hole before pressing it in place. It usually works good enough on the first try. If not, I hold down the "good" hole and lift the other side enough to re-position the rest of the paper.
