Am I finishing this cabinet the best way?

Hi all,

So I'm building my first cabinet, actually a kitchen island. I;m using Hard maple and I'm using a mixture of general finished Dye stains. Fir the finished I was going to use Sherwin Williams pre-cat lacquar with some catalyst and spraying using a Earlex 5500. Still practicing the spraying technique.

Is there a better way to finish the top coat? Just want to get others thoughts since this is my first time. I've usually used Polyurethane in the past for other projects.

I am not aware of any reason to add catalyst to a pre-cat lacquer. Otherwise it should work fine. Spray a couple of coats before you sand to lower the chance of sanding into your color.
