help on cabinet material

I will be building some cabinets for over the washer and dryer. I need a material which will take paint well. I would like to find birch(or something similar) with one side covered with a melamine like material for the interiors. Anybody know if such a thing exists? I don't like melamine and would prefer ply cabinets, and not have to apply an interior finish.

Pre-finished birch ply and such is available Jim.
Visit a cabinet shop in your area to seek out a source for it.
