I posted a thread a few weeks ago, regarding a juried show that I entered. My first effort at a juried (or any other kind for that matter) show. I got a letter yesterday with the results. I was not really expecting to get in, but lo and behold, 2 of the 3 were accepted. There were 254 entries, and 51 were accepted. Now I just have to make a few tiny repairs, and get them shined up for presentation. This is going to get expensive. Now I have to put wider doors in my house because my head is getting so big. ;) These are the pieces accepted.

A juried show is when the organizers select a jury of one or more art experts to pick the pieces allowed to be in an art show. It is intended to raise the quality and status of the show to an exclusive art level. This is intended to attract higher end buyers, and artists who charge more for their work. Some shows are open call, which means that anybody can rent a booth and show anything they want. Some of these shows get a flea market feel, or farmers market crowd. Usually a lower dollar type of show.
