I have something off in my settings and I tried a 1 in x 2 in test in corel but its comes in as .75 x 1.5" in Job control, what am I doing wrong. Looks like its been this way all along but Ive been doing "art" pieces that didn't require accuracy in size. and secondly cutting 1/2 acrylic, what speed & ppi etc for a decent cut. Again its art so not worried about sides but size yes. TIA

Sounds like when you are printing, you have it scaling 75%. Look to make sure that it's set to 100%.

I don't use CorelDraw so this is the best I can offer: http://community.coreldraw.com/resized-image/__size/680x1000/__key/CommunityServer.Discussions.Components.Files/543/6864.Untitled_2D00_2.jpg

Seems like Id used a previous setting somehow kept in the document. Alls well - Still need the speed for 1/2 inch if anyone has cut it, presumably pretty slow, eg .5 IPS?

I'd say it's time for the vector equivalent of a test grid. I used it to dial in settings on my GCC for 1/8" acrylic when I had to have two pieces sandwiched together but needed to cut through the top one and leave the bottom (relatively) unscathed.

Draw a bunch of 1/4" circles and cut them at various speeds. If you cut near the edge you can see how deep each speed increment ends up cutting. Find the one that just cuts through - you don't really need any more power than just getting a clean cut. Then do the same with some 1/2" long lines. They should be similar but almost certainly will be slightly different. Use the slower of the two speeds.

Depends on if it's cast or extruded. Cast, I'd start with 100% power, about .15 or .16 on the speed, Hz, whatever you want. I haven't found much difference in 1000 and 60,000, but we use 60,000Hz.

If it's extruded, you can probably go up .02-.03 (.18-.2 or so) on that. I'm running a little less power than you, so your speed might need to be a little higher. Too slow and it'll blister the underside. I cut more of that than I care to admit. Plus, the brand makes a difference too. I've seen quite a difference in speeds across brands. Now, we use the same stuff all the time, always and the settings work 99% of the time.

When you place the Head on the table at say 12" What does your JC read. 12.00 In Corel when you select output "print" what does the " Layout" screen read ?? "As in Document?
