Need some help looking for some sized wood. I need some 2x2x12ish pieces of wood that are finished on all four sides. I'd like some maybe cherry, maple, and walnut.

Has anyone ordered any from Woodcraft? What's their quality, dimensions true and straight?

I don't have a planer, jointer or sander to dimension my own wood, so that's why I'm looking to buy.

TIA
Jerry

Have you contacted your local lumber yards? If you're looking for domestics that would my first choice.

Plus a lot of them have their own planers and jointers and would be happy to surface it for you for a small fee.

Sad to say the local lumber yard is a big box.

Try Ocooch Hardwood and look at the carving stock. You could call them and ask about exact sizing and finish. I have ordered wood from them and always been happy.

Try www.woodfinder.com (http://www.woodfinder.com)

Just remember that Woodfinder is woefully incomplete. It's easier to google "hardwood dealer <your town>".

Or better yet, use google maps and search for "lumber" or "hardwood" or something. That way you find the places without websites.

Bummer. Any Creekers in your area or maybe close enough to make shipping reasonable. I would have not problem prepping some stock for you and mailing it but, from So Cal to WI could get a little silly.

Try Bob Kloes. He is in Seymour WI. www.bobkloes.com (http://www.bobkloes.com) He is a very nice guy to deal with.

I'm pretty sure tablelegs.com sells square stock. I don't know how their pricing compares.

Thanks for the reply's.

Kinda odd that you folks from around the country know more about suppliers in my backyard than I do.

I think I'll call Ocooch Hardwood tomorrow looks like they'll have what I want at a good price.

Glenn, thanks for the offer.
