A friend has sent me a couple of coils of bandsaw stock. Now I need a shop that will weld it into loops for me. A call to my local sharpener revealed that they buy the coils they sell, and don't know of anyone who welds bands. I have to believe there is a least one shop around Buffalo that does this, but haven't found any yet. Does anyone know of a source? Thanks.

Thanks, but they only sell pre-made bands, and didn't know of a local company that does.

Learn how to silver soldier them. Woodcraft stocks a complete kit. Google soldiering band saw blades, and something should turn up. Many industrial supply houses offer band saw blade welding. Most machine shops have blade welders on their band saws. It's an art, but once learned it never goes away. Perhaps there is a trade school or community college near you that has a machine shop program. If you are going to do a lot, consider the possibility of building your self a blade welder.

Second on the silver solder. That's the way they did blades befor but welding was perfected. The big 6 in wide blades you see in the old sawmill pics were SS.
Any machine shop should have a butt welder also. Dan
