Hello. i am new to this as i am a retired Boilermakers turned wood worker. I have a McGraw Edison 7" wood lathe Model T 6750 16 Type A and i need a tool rest. A friend of mine picked this up and gave it to me. I have none of the parts for the rest including the part that slips on the base. If i cant get one pictures would work i could have one made.

I never heard of them, but I did a Google search and found it advertised in the June 1982 Popular Mechanics for $88. It has a really tiny motor so it would only be useful for pens and similar stuff except that it isn't compatible with any pen mandrels. The company sold their portable tools division to ShopSmith and then all of the McGraw-Edison tools were liquidated. I wouldn't waste any money on it. Even a HF mini late like THIS (http://www.harborfreight.com/5-speed-bench-top-wood-lathe-65345.html#) would be far better.

Keep a lookout on eBay, I see those McGraw lathes come up occasionally. But like Bill said, I would not waste the money on it if I wanted a working lathe. They are more for the hobbyist that makes doll house furniture out of balsa wood.
