I am coming up with ideas for christmas, and for one person (who works in a salon), I had thought about making a brush similar to a shaving brush, as well as one like you would apply talc powder with. But, I am having an impossible time finding a place to buy the tufts from. I have seen basting brush tufts in some catalogs, but never anything for personal grooming. Anyone have any ideas where to look or has anyone made these items yourself? I did a search on yahoo, and came up pretty much empty.

If it was me-----because the brushes are big money--- sable-----I would buy one at wallyworld----cut it down-----and remount it into the handel I turned ----of course that's just me.

There's a guy named Don McIvor http://www.mcivorwoodworks.com/ that makes some really nice brushes. I'll bet he'd give you all kinds of ideas on where to get them and how to make them.
