Joined a few weeks ago. Just wanted to say there is a TON of info here. Appreciate all of you that have been here, and new guys (like me..) a while passing on your experiences...and your willingness to share. Guess that makes us sawdust makers unique and this site a great source for newby's and "olduns" . Hope to join in on some conversations where I might have some useful info. Is there a "newguy" place to put this?
Anyway, glad I found this site...
David

Welcome David,

Note that the new guys and gals here are as valuable as the more advanced woodworkers, if nobody asks questions there will be very few discussions.

Welcome David. Lots of good folks here. You are right that woodworking forums differ from some others. My photographer friend is always amazed that we share tips, tricks and methods. In the photography forums he frequents and moderates the members hold knowledge close and rarely share.

Indeed. I gave up on photography sites because of the nasty nature of the posts. I once posting a photo admitting I was a rank beginner asking for feedback and all I got was nasty responses about how the photo 'sucked' without any comments on why or how to improve it. Woodworkers are by far more supportive and tend to provide much better constructive feedback.

Welcome to the Creek. Feel free to dip your toes in the water and wade around with the rest of us. This is the finest site of all the woodworking sites that I visit. The folks here are very helpful and always ready to provide assistance when needed.

Welcome to the forum David.

There are a lot of very helpful people here, one thing that might help is if you updated your profile to include some location information...............Regards, Rod.

Welcome aboard David. You might want to consider posting your location and spending the small dollars to help support SMC (become a donor).
