I just finished making these model locomotives with tenders. Started these a few years ago but got hung up on making the little wheels, the drivers were no problem. As I made 4 of these. which was a brain fart. I said to my self if I have the machine set up to cut one part then making more is no problem. The problems is that I didn't count the parts there were over a thousand parts to cut and shape in these 4 models. Any way I cut the small wheels on the scroll saw with a Spiral blade which did a great job and I didn't lose any skin, there are 80 of these wheels to make - 20 for each model. I believe that this is my last model making it just is too much work with small pieces of wood.
They are made out of Walnut, Maple, and Cherry.
After making them I gave one away and then decided to enclose two of them in a glass case to keep little fingers away. Made the fist out of pine and then stained it dark. I like to make the first out of pine as this gives me a chance to refine my plans and the cost is very little. Then made the second out of oak.
All 4 of them together 330231
