1934 Delta Bandsaw Ad.

I found this recently in an old magazine. Nothing too mind-blowing, but it's the earliest one I've ever personally seen, so I thought some folks might enjoy seeing it. I scanned & fixed it up as best I could.

Is that a dipstick for the oil in the gearbox for metal cutting? Mine has the same type lower casting that converts from metal to wood, and it leaks a little bit even though I have never used it as a metal cutting bandsaw. It belonged to my Dad, and he had it set up to cut metal. Cooler looking wheel covers back then.

I believe that looped handle is for the on/off switch which is on the side of the motor.

I dunno, but I have a 1931 catalogue that lists their current top of the line TEN inch bandsaw, for a whopping $25 with the stand. No motor though, what a ripoff!

Not many machines came with a motor, from ANY manufacturer.
Use your own or it was an option.

Love mine! Picked it up for a couple hundred on CL It's original paint and parts. I upgraded the guides (kept the old) and had to replace the bakelite plug as it's falling apart.

My go to for small stuff.
