My saw is like new. I don't have a lot of chainsaw experience but the chain on this saw seems dry compared to my gas saw. The oiler path looks clear of debris and I can see a little oil but the chain looks dry. I cut 5 logs into bowl blanks and the oil indicator still shows full. Any suggestions on what to check appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Ok - I looked a little closer and ran the saw w/o the bar. Oil was being fed but very slowly. I then put some thin Marvel Mystery oil in it and now it's spewing the oil. Maybe the original oil I used was too thick?

Thanks

We/I here up North use two different bar oils, summer bar oil (thicker) and winter bar oil (thinner), your supplier should carry these I would think HTH :)

I have that saw and the oiler is not the greatest. "Standard" chain saw oil will barely make it to the chain, even in hot summer weather. As you've found out, and as Leo mentioned, go thinner and all is well.

Thanks - I'll look for the thinner oil.
