Related to a post I posted a while back about Amazon's pricing being crazy. Just saw this one at one of the biggest "deals" available right now...

Who knew broom's had such a high MRSP? I'm thinking about opening a broom store now..... :D

The large number reflects the price per dozen.

Well, Steve, it is, after all, one of the "Executive" series . . . . . . . .

Well, I'm not sure I want to be a broom maker yet. I might reconsider making and selling some of the following, since the MSRP's are so high.

(yes, it really is THAT boring when it's snowing for days!)

The MSRP prove there is a sucker born every minute.

I actually would love a corn broom from Broomcorn Johnny. Artisanal brooms, handmade in the US. $60. Bet it would last forever.

I'm pretty certain the manufacturers never sold a single item at the Amazon MSRP. Amazon is well known for listing inflated MSRPs. Take a look at the real (not Amazon) MSRP for circuit breakers sometime. Single pole 15 and 20 amp breakers usually have an MSRP between $30 and $40. They generally sell at your local home improvement center for $5 or less.

Ridiculous retail tactic. Same with "compare at..."
Many times just made up inflated pricing..
Similar to "save up to 80%" nonsense. It's usually either one or two items at that savings, or discount from MSRP, or a made up original price. Retailers keep doing it because consumers keep falling for it.

By the way, here in Michigan, Amazon now must charge sales tax...apparently some 23 states where they have some state presence...
