Was visiting a fellow woodworking buddy today and he brought out this old wood fore plane. No makers mark that i could find, did have an owners mark. The iron was stamped but i cant make it out. Its tapered and with dbl iron. Can you guys? Any good?

Often the blade and plane will be made by different companies, especially at this point in time.

The plane looks like a fairly typical higher-end USA type. Ohio Toolworks, maybe. Sometimes you can JUST barely see part of the original logo on the front. Look very carefully.

Hey Judson, long time no see. It is a Humphreysville iron, you can just make out the beginning, and the shape of the top is distinctive--sort of a cross between the typical 19th c. iron and the rounded top of an 18th c. iron. I have one and it is one of my faves--buttery smooth to sharpen and holds a nice edge. Hope yours is a nice!
