What did you do at the stroke of midnight to usher in the new year? Were you sleeping, partying, reading, relaxing, or what? In Kentucky too many guns fire at the appointed hour to sleep. I was keeping watch to ensure they weren't pointed up the hill at our houses this year.

I was sleeping. I wanted to get up and start my Powermatic 65 restoration.

And I have two young kids so it's not like I was going anywhere!

We watched MSU get chewed up and crapped out by 'Bama.
What a disappointment that was. We were with some friends.
After the game ended, 15 minutes later the ball dropped in NYC.

Gave my wife a smooch, then fell asleep. One of our dogs gets scared of thunder, fireworks, gunshots, etc., so spent time being near him.

Didn't do a thing. Was home, working on the computer. I didn't even notice until sometime after midnight.

Stayed home. Went to bed about 11:30.

Do you think we woodworkers are a boring lot? Or are we just "solitary"?:D

Happy New Year everyone!

We had 10 people sleeping in our house for a delayed Christmas celebration and New Years celebration. 4 generations, ages 68-3 years, together temporarily. At midnight, my wife, our daughter, her adult daughter (our granddaughter) and I said "Happy New Year, the LOML gave me a peck on the cheek and we went to bed. Everybody else went to bed before us.

I read until about 11 or so, but turned out the light and rang in the new year with my eyes shut. :)

Well we are certainly not the party crowd. I awoke the wife and smooched her on the forehead. She turned on NYC to watch the ball drop and then was back to rest immediately after the ball fell. I was watching the neighbors. First year they didn't decide to shoot up the hill in our direction.

Being on the West Coast, we can celebrate by watching the ball drop in Times Square (9pm here). So I can say we were toasting the New Year at Midnight east coast time but were asleep at Midnight West Coast time.

Brought in the new year at my sister and BILs house with my wife. The 4 of us brought in the new year watching the ball and toasting each other with good tidings.

Wife and daughter were in bed by 8:30 (not feeling well.) So i got to have myself a Woodwrights Shop marathon. In bed by 11:00.

what can i say? As a "friend of Bill," it was an awesome night!

And i didnt have to spend all night explaining to everyone why i am not drinking, and listening to drunken people assuring me they "don't get drunk too much."

Good times....Good times.
