Local Lowes steps up to the plate

A human resuurce manager at Lowes here in Burlinton NC learned of a evacuee that had made it to Burlington contacted her and she is now working at this Lowes and employees here have collected $800.00 for this lady to help her get back on her feet and get home. I know several workers there and I tip my hat to them all.

On a related note, one of the ladies at my office (in Burbank, CA) has family in Biloxi (who lost everything), and decided she needed to go to the Gulf Coast to help in whatever way she chould. She was planning to drive out by herself and improvise for food and lodging. When our company heard about it, they agreed to pay her airfare, food and lodging, and they also hooked her up with a group of volunteer ministers who had already established a presence in the area, so she'd have a group to wirk with. I thought this gesture reflected well on the company.
