So I just got my Trotec in yesterday, and I'm having an interesting issue with the exhaust port. It's 3.5" O.D. and 3" I.D., which is being connected to my Penn blower motor which is 4". The available duct reducers are only 3" to 4". I can't squeeze a 3" inside of the exhaust, and would really prefer not to. Any tips or tricks?

I bought some black abs pipe from Home Depot. The od is the same as the port on the laser and the od of any of the fittings is the same as the ID on standard 4" hose. My blower is above the ceiling so I have a short length of straight pipe connected to a 90 that connects to the 4" hose - works fantastic! Oh, use a thin piece of plastic and hose clamps to connect the pipe to the port. Pic attached.

Trotec does have a 4" port you can change out.

Yes, tell the salesman that you got the wrong port. They should swap it out for you. 4 bolts and it's ready for the 4" lines.

Haha, I actually got it to work by using the 4" exhaust, the circular fastener, and screwed it down until it was tight. Surprisingly, it will tighten to 3.5". The seal was good, but I decided to be safe and use 3M sealing tape to make sure. But now you guys have me worried about potential performance issues with venting. Is there a reason why they would come with 3.5" and 4" exhaust ports?

You didn't ask :p

Because it's made in Europe. Same reason it's got metric hardware on it. Not a big deal, they normally swap them out (or at least they used to). Hack it together to get it to work and then get them to swap it out for you.

Sold you the wrong part, call Trotec. They have a 4" ez 4 bolt fix as Scott said.

Hi Jacob,

Did you get your replacement part? How is it working?

I actually haven't yet, I've been really busy and forgot. What I installed is actually working fine, but thank you for reminding me.

I made an adapter "donut" from a scrap of 3/4" PVC sheet material, that slides over the exhaust port on the Speedy 300. Having a CNC router table helped...

Thanks to all who replied in this thread. I wrote my rep and they promptly shipped the correct part for free. Very easy.
