#7 jointer question....

Greetings gentlemen.
Elliott here from FLA. I have a question regarding a #7 Stanley
I am looking for a type 6-7 or 8 in decent shape that needs a cleaning and tuning. When I find one...can you give me a ball park figure as to how much is too much for one ? It will be for using not sitting on a shelf.

Hi Elliot, I would suggest that any #7 or #8 between a type 6 and type 17 would be worthy of your consideration. All of them make good users and of those, after type 10 they have the frog adjustment screw at the rear of the frog. For #7s, expect to pay anywhere from about $45 to $90 depending on condition, type, and how the bid market is moving.
