It may be illegal to sharpen and / or use cracked saw blades.

Here is a 14" Melamine saw we just received. The crack is very hard to see. But it is there. The right picture is about 50x with a Dino-Lite.

Traditionally the crack would have Been welded or punched or drilled. Now saw blades are much less expensive and it is about as cheap or cheaper to replace them.

Plus, you never know what you are really cutting. We have a customer that talks about finding a Crescent wrench in a sheet of particleboard.

Finally, I really don't want to get involved in an OSHA investigation in any way or for any reason.
Happy New Year

Good info Tom. Always better to be safe than sorry when using tools.

Hi Tom,
Your right. Years ago we would drill a hole at the end of the crack and call it good. Not now.

Any blade that come in the shop that has a crack is NO GOOD.

Happy New Year Tom.

Thanks Bill
