Prototype Failures

Right now I'm in the process of designing furniture that is easily collapsible for shipping and easier to fit into smaller apartment and homes. I'm having trouble figuring out a way to make the joints on the apron of the table easy to remove and put together. Also the process has to be one that does not require the use of tools. I have ideas on how the top is going to work but am puzzled on the apron. I've made multiple mock ups and prototypes in my shop resulting in failure. Any ideas or input to help me brainstorm? I refuse to give up! thanks

Retain the apron and use the cavity created by the aprons and top as a storage area for the remaining parts.
