Spent $8 at my favorite rust hunting place and scored a Disston No.100 that needed its top horn replaced. A starrett 98-12 that needs a new vial and a couple other "things" I am not sure of. Any ideas?

Polish the level like you would sharpen a chisel then sent it to Starrett and they will replace the vial.

In the second picture, the item on the top is a cutter for glass tubing.
Sorry,I don't know what the bottom device is.

Vials for those levels are mighty expensive.

Rick thats what I was figuring on.
Nicholas are you referring to lapping the machined surfaces?
Bill the vial is $13 but not 100% on resetting it and to have Starrett reset it for me is $82. Either way the level cost me $1 and at North of $200 for a new one seems like a good deal.
