I have a new Makita RT0701 trim router with the standard base and the plunge base. I intend to use it for inlay work and the "standard" template guides fit perfectly in the standard base, but there appears to be something missing for the plunge base. I don't see any way of using a guide unless there's some crazy looking adapter available so that the standard guides will fit. I can't seem to find any information or parts list for the plunge base. I can see no reason why Makita would not have the plunge base set up for the standard guides like their standard base? Any help? This is a beautiful piece of equipment and I really don't want to have to return it for this reason, there must be a simple solution. Anyone know how to contact Makita directly by email to ask them the question? All I can find is a phone number, and I absolutely hate talking on the phone, -can't hear too well in my old age..... Thanks for any help!!!

Chuck,

I think you will need one of these:
http://www.amazon.com/Makita-321492-3-Template-Guide/dp/B0007SXH78/ref=pd_sim_469_4?ie=UTF8&dpID=31K11ZbnvJL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=00P7A81D9FRX9EFJFDVR

This is the Makita adapter you need: Makita 321492-3 Template Guide - Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Makita-321492-3-Template-Guide/dp/B0007SXH78) (you can find it for less if you shop around).

The Shop Fox "Template Guide Adapter" fits as well and is much cheaper (currently $10.68 @Amazon).
