Leveling my workbench

How do you folks go about leveling out your workbench when the basement floor is uneven, and when you were sleeping, someon (some infiidel no doubi) made one of the legs about a quarter inch shorter than the others. I've got the low one shimmed up and that helps, but would like to get all legs on some sort of adjustable system to help deal with any bad bench boogie that may ge getting settled in therel

There are several styles of adjustable feet that you could buy and install on the work bench. I (being to cheap) made my own using some heavy angle iron that I tapped out for a bolt and use jam nuts to lock it in place.

Lee Valley sells leveling feet for cabinets that can hold up to 1000 lb. I use them on my TS outfeed table and my extension table and they are very nice. A set of them would work just fine for a workbench in all but the most extreme usage cases. You could also tack on some scrap wood shims to fit it to the floor if you want better contact with the floor in lieu of the leveling feet.

Gee, on my bench, well, the darn thing is so heavy, I just hammered a shim under it and called it a day. :rolleyes:

I've always found a simple lag bolt or two screwed into the bottom of the feet worked fine. However my bench is not a "work-of-art" bench. Just flat and functional for a handyman. I picked the tip up from a model railroad mag years ago now for levelling benchwork. there's always a more expensive option though.
