Hi all, My 8 year old has asked Santa for a scale model department store, like the one we have in town. I've got a laser and am proficient at Corel, but haven't designed such a thing before. Any tips to get this jumpstarted? Thanks in advance -

I don't have an answer for you but I'm curious what part of Oregon you are in? I'm in Eugene.

I haven't done anything like that before, but off the top of my head:

I'd use a 3D modeling program like Rhino or Autocad. Model all the surfaces assembled and add mortise and tenon connection points using a command like "boolean" (any decent 3D modeling program will have it). Then project all those surfaces on a flat plane so you can laser cut them.
