I've been given this set (http://www.terapeak.com/worth/vintage-millers-falls-carving-tool-set-no-107-wood-chisels-carving-original-box/321210522637/). It has all of the tools and they are in pretty good shape. Is there a tutorial for how I get started with this type of chisel? I would like to do chip carving or something like that in box tops and the like. Would these work?

Hi Eric
I don't know too much about chip carving and even less about your Miller Falls palm tools. one of the ladies in our carving club is very much into chip carving as well other types of carvingI will have a look and see if I can find one of her chip carvings for you

Hi Eric

There are chip carving chisel sets. I had a chip carving chisel set from Grizzly. It worked pretty good. Those palm tools are not the type used for chip carving.

Here is a type of gouge chip carving that you likely can do with your tools
