I finally finished a table rack I've been working on for church. It holds 28 tables, some 6' long, some 8', all 2 1/2 wide. Here it is in a rather cozy storage room, all loaded up.

That middle partition is a torsion box. This choice was probably unnecessary; all your descriptions of torsion box assembly tables got the best of me.
