Hi All,
I've purchased and reactivated an old Kuster drum sander. It's got 2 six inch, smooth aluminum drums and I'm having some difficulty keeping the paper tight. Somewhere, in a post from long ago, someone mentioned putting a coat of shellac on the drums. I was thinking of going with a coat of rubber cement and letting it dry thoroughly before putting the paper on. Anyone out there ever try this? Thoughts?
I don't relish the idea of switching to velcro due to cost but primarily due to the spongy effect.
Thanks,
Tim
