had some walnut slabs to cobble something together with. Soo, a small, coffee table sized item came from the stack of boards.

40"x 14" by 19-1/4" high. has a few curves, to add a bit of interest.

A little better lighting. There are two knots in the top. Filled them in.
Bottom shelf needed end caps.

One leg has a LOT of sap wood in it. There is a hole straight through the leg, from a knot on one side of the leg.
Two coats of Poly, rubbed out each time, final coat is a buffed on of O'Sullivan's Oil Finish.
Seemed to bring out the grain nicely, too.:D

Beautiful! Really nice figure, and elegant shaping.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but is the bottom shelf let in away from the legs a bit? I ask because I'm designing a table with a shelf and am interested in how others solve the wood movement issue with the shelf.

Really nice work.

I left a slight gap between the legs and the shelf, between a 1/16" and an 1/8". At least Walnut doesn't move around as much as say...Oak and the like.

Mostly the ends caps are between the legs, very little of the shelf, maybe an 1/8" or so. Should be safe, that way.

Very nice, like the shape of the legs
