Glue Bottles-- The specialty ones Norm used

Did you buy into the specialty glue bottles like Norm used, the one with the roller and the one for biscuits slots> I bought them, over five years ago but have neverusd them. My thinking was they do not seal well, especially the one for biscuits, so my glue would dry up before I used it up. Washing them out after a glue up would waste a lot of glue.

I haven't used those two types, but I have and use the GluBots. I like them a lot.

I always wondered about the glue left on the rollers after a joint was made. Would it leave a lumpy surface or just jam up the roller when you used it several days later.

I bought the roller one and found it useless. I keep glue in its own bottle and use a separate rubber roller to apply it.

I have a selection from Rockler that came as a set during a clearance. I find the silicone brush surprisingly useful although I normally use a smaller paddle since I don't often spread a lot of glue like that. When I do, it works well. The bottle with a roller is good for "medium" jobs if there will be enough of it. That is, if I have a large enough area that needs to be covered quickly but, is not so large that I bring out my silicone pastry roller, the bottle is good. I do clean it after use as the use is not often enough to use it as a storage container. Of all the glue accessories I have tried, the little plastic paddles from Lee Valley and the Glue Pot (http://www.woodworkingshop.com/product/ff01000/)from various sources get used the most.

The all time winners though are the Glu-bot and the Baby-bot.

Have tried several other bottle-type dispensers and found they just get clogged all the time. Better to use brushes for applying glue to biscuits or any other type of joinery.
