I'm about to buy a dovetail jig, going through the usual research. I am leaning towards the Leigh D4, but I want to see the Akeda in person before I decide. Anyway, I just got the WoodCraft catalog and it lists the new Leigh D4 R. It describes all the features, but I am not familiar enough with the D4 to know what is different about the R version. The leigh web site does not even mention the R version. Does anyone know what is new on this R version jig?

Maybe it's reconditioned?

As far as I know the only difference is in the side stops. On the D4 they are adjustable and must be set up the first time you use it. On the D4R they are an integeral part of the jig and are ready to go out of the box. I've used my D4 dozens of times and have not had to readjust the stops yet, so I don't know if it's really an upgrade. I believe they may also include some plastic strips to make blockers on the template boards. I just make mine from wood.
