Been sharpening edge tools up, since the latest project is about done. Was checking over the block planes, and found one in a little bit of need for rehab. been in the shop awhile, just have been keeping it set aside.

That lever isn't for a lateral adjustment, it locks the cap iron in place..

Cap iron is in fine shape, a bit on the Rusty Brown side, though. Not too much I can do about the sole, though.

Looks like it has been around the block a few times. I MIGHT try to find a better iron for it..

yeah...but this one has patent dates all over it. Rest of the plane isn't too bad, the teeth to advance the iron are a bit worn down.

And, I think this was made way before an eccentric lever was designed.
Let it sit on a display shelf, or try to get it back to working order?:confused:
