A friend of mine recently asked me to trim a screen door for him that was made of this white plastic/foam/vinyl material. I forgot that I had a new blade on my table saw and now I have a new blade full of this melted material. Any suggestions on how to get this stuff off? Thanks in advance.

Presuming that you have tried all the usual solvent type stuff (white spirit etc..) then heat or the lack of it comes to mind.

I would try putting the blade in a freezer overnight and see if the residue becomes brittle enough - like the way to deal with chewing gum?

If that doesnt work then the oposite of applying a bit of gentle heat and trying to scrape off the softened residue might help?

My first try would be to run some scrap wood through the saw, and see if it knocks the melted plastic off.

Usually a good overnight soak in Simple Green will do the trick. Be sure to dry well before re-installing.
