Wondering if anyone can help. I'm making a square bowl primary wood is Padauk with some maple segments. The problem is while sanding there is massive Paduak dust bleeding onto the maple. Any suggestions on how to stop the bleed so i can finish this Project. BTW turning on a lathe

I don't know of any definitive "fix". Paduak is an oily wood and the sanding dust is going to be loaded with colored oil and dust that migrates to adjoining wood. You can try using a curved cabinet scraper that is well sharpened.

I know your frustration Kirk. I have made quite a few "Bowl from a Board" bowls and one had Maple, Walnut , Cherry and Paduak in it. I could not get the bleed to stop. I just sanded and sanded it with finer grits to try to minimize it. Next time I will try something like Bubinga instead.
