NE Maple Burl Bowl

This is a hard maple burl bowl 9.5" dia x 4" deep at the tallest point. The wall thickness is about 5/16". I like the rays perpendicular to the grain direction that you get when turn natural edge. Finish is Danish oil buffed and waxed.

The photos directly into the bowl should have been shot on the lighter portion of the back drop.

Thanks for the compliments. I haven't had a ton of time to turn much lately (firewood and a couple of flatwork projects), but I really got into the natural edge. This is actually the first one that I tried to retain the bark.
