Ian,

I need one of those bumpers! It would sure save lots of time and money when I hit the deer around here.
But I 'spose you folks use them for pushing the buffalo;)

Lotta cattle on our outback roads... we'd call that one a "bull bar".

All our long haul road trains (semi tractor trailers) have them fitted.

Yeah they pretty effective against kangaroos & even deer. My lad drives a triple semi and hit a wild deer with it in the last month (which is notable here coz they aren't native).

The big old man roos can get to 200+ pounds easy enough you will know when you've hit one at speed.

Likely it will still cause some superficial damage BUT if it keeps the radiator and water pump all intact -you can usually limp to the next town for repairs at least.

I hit a big doe just after July 4th on the way back from a family reunion this year. I didn't lose the radiator or water pump---but I did lose my headlights. Note--this was about 10:30PM, so I had a long slow limp back home. Luckily for me it was only about 15 miles of backroads! I like being able to see, as I am getting older and seems the eyes are getting dimmer?
The damage was about $3700 and I was out of a vehicle for a week and a half.
This was deer #4 for me in the last 9 years.

Could have used one of those bad boys on the front of my dad's Edsel when we smacked a deer so hard the entire windshield was covered in blood, hair, pee and poo. Pushed the radiator into the fan.

I travel on a highway ever year that sometimes has open range cattle. I've almost hit cows on the road twice. I would like to have a nice big bull bar for my converted bus, but no real frame to attach it to up front. At night we go slow on that road in case of a cow on the road.

Someone I know hit a cow a few years ago on that road and rolled his car. It was an Taurus wagon and he was able to get it upright and still drive it.
