View Full Version : 770 and 740 DeWalt RAS commonality

Does anyone know if the DW740 and 770 radial arm saws share parts in common? They look identical except for the motors (frame 350 in the former and frame 236 in the latter).

Paul, Have you looked at a parts breakdown on the net? From the ones I've seen I'd say they are. Even some parts on a 7790 probably would fit too.

I was looking around on the VWWM site yesterday. The 740 and 770 share a common user manual and parts list that's posted there, so it looks like the 770 just has a motor upgrade. Even then, it looks like the motors are going to be dimensionally the same (at least for the dimensions of fitting in the yoke), but the 770's motor has an automatic brake and can be wired for 240v, while the 740's got a manual brake and is 120v only.
